About Louise

I’m Louise and welcome to LouiseMillen.com. I’m so glad you’re here and excited to let you get to know me a little better! What started in 2017 as an online diary about culture and growing up in Africa has evolved into a space that allows me to share trend fashion, a love of home, healthy recipes, and topics that are meaningful to me. My greatest hope is that my platform encourages and inspires you in some way.

When I’m not sharing my everyday life with you, you can find me spending time with my best friend and husband, Alex and our two beautiful kids. We also have two furry babies, a golden doodle and an Egyptian Mau cat. Being a mom has been God’s greatest gift to me and I feel so blessed that he gave me Zyanya and Alexander.

I’m so thankful you’ve chosen to spend some time with me here.

Frequently Asked Questions

I started blogging as a way to share the rich culture of Ghana and my love for cooking. Over time, it evolved into fashion, home decor, and sharing life along the way. For anyone looking to enter the world of blogging, there is no magic formula that will equate to a successful blog. My advice is to find out what you’re most passionate about, take the time to do a little research, and always be authentic and consistent.

There are a few ways to shop my outfits. The easiest option is to download the LIKEtoKNOW.it app and ‘follow’ me there. You can also shop my finds on my “Amazon” storefront, or shop all my looks on the ‘Shop’ page of my website.

I shoot with a canon EOS 70D. Occasionally I like to work with photographers. Some of my Instagram photos are taken with an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I edit my photos in Lightroom and occasionally use other apps for my images.

My logo is very close and dear to me. Since I am mixed African and Mediterranean, I wanted to incorporate design elements of Ghana with harmonizing lines to highlight my heritage. I was inspired by an “Adinkra” symbol called Nyame Dua which means the tree of God and represents the presence and protection of God. The circle in my logo represents cohesiveness, unity, family, and how we are all connected in this beautiful world.
