Work Wear Mondays: My H&M Look

H&M Fitted Jacket; H&M Wrapover Skirt; Charles David Shoes from Nordstrom; Louis Vuitton Neverfull Bag

    H&M Office Look

Another Monday, another work week! Today, I am sharing an office look that is affordable and yet stylish. This attire from H&M is versatile and I love the fit.  Thank goodness I didn’t need to get the jacket tailored!!!  You can wear this fitted jacket with a slim fitted skirt or pants, or with jeans for a more casual look. The skirt can be dressed up as well.

A classic yet affordable look for the office is a win-win for me. I also noticed the jacket comes in a few colors along with the skirt. If you haven’t been to H&M lately, you should.  They have a range of clothing from loungewear to office wear, and I love their variety.

    Now who doesn’t like a jacket that’s under $25??

    H&M Finds

    It’s My Anniversary!

Guys, today is my anniversary with my darling husband! I can’t believe how time flies and yet it moves ever so slowly, or maybe it just moves by rather quickly altogether when we are happy.  Either way, I am so grateful that time has this way of showing us what really matters. Today, I get to spend another day with my husband and so thankful for the joy he’s brought into my life and for my kids.

Okay, moving on from that sentimental post 🙂 ….I am sure what you really want to hear about is my H&M finds and not this display of affection for my hubby but I couldn’t resist writing just a little personal something, see? So back to my current finds. I recently went window shopping and got sucked into H&M after seeing all the cool office wear in the window display. About an hour later, I was walking out with a bag full of pleated skirts and jackets, which brings me to this current post.

    H&M

I always find the collections at H&M to be reasonably priced.  A jacket is usually under $35 and that works when you’re on a budget or when you don’t want to spend over $200 on a jacket. The quality is also great and the fit is what I really love about their clothes.

So let’s talk outfit; I think neutral works most of the time. They say, when in doubt, stick to a more neutral palette. For this look, I added a little pop of color to the outfit.  The pleated skirt makes it super flirty and fun. The material is soft and almost satin-like.  My jacket is sturdy and the fit is perfect. One of the things I like about it is the three-quarter sleeve that is scrunched and the way it sits loosely on me.  I started thinking this will be awesome for work but also with jeans! Yes, I am always shopping for outfits that can be mix/match with other items in my wardrobe.  Can you imagine this jacket with jeans, strapped heels, and a tank top? I completed the look my perforated crossbody bag from Francescas and the yellow pop with my shoes.

Confession….I actually picked up 3 jackets that day.  This neutral toned jacket, a blue, and a pink jacket! Yikes!!! I just couldn’t beat the price for that quality and the fit.  I think everyone needs a jacket, at least one jacket in their wardrobe.  Yes?

Linking details of this look below. I am curious to know if you’ve shopped at H&M? Now off I go to celebrate my anniversary with the hubs (can I write that? is that even a word?). ~ xo Louise

    Fall Finds Under $50

There’s usually a little bit of a frenzy when approaching a change in season.  It could be due to the current fashion trends or realizing the clothes you’ve kept in your wardrobe from last Fall is not too wearable any longer.  Either way, there’s always this trend every season to do a little shopping and mix/match with your current clothes in your wardrobe. Today, I am sharing a few finds that are reasonably priced from a store I have never shopped at before; still in love with the top! Call it an accidental find, thanks to my little girl who actually pulled me into this store on one of our trips to get her fluffy scented unicorn squizamals at Claire’s. Please don’t even get me started on the squizamals and squishy trend toys among little girls! I will have to save that for another post.

Anyway, about this outfit which she picked for me and henceforth (don’t I sound so proper?), I have decided to take her along on all my shopping sprees!!!

    Outfits Under $50

This outfit is such a great transitional wear into Fall! It is not too heavy and not too light either. This top and scarf are both under $10 from Forever21 and H&M, respectfully. My pants come in three colors and on sale at Free People. I just love the beautiful contrast of colors. Maybe it’s something about color harmony between primary and secondary colors that make this look fun and yet “Fall-ish”.

My lettuce edge mock neck top isn’t really a turtleneck so is not too heavy and can be worn in temperatures in the 60s degree Fahrenheit (F) or higher…just not in 80F degree weather! Now that will be a bit too hot. I love the scallops on the edges since it adds a feminine touch to the look. The belted wide-leg pants are super comfortable. I can’t gush enough how surprised I was when I put them on! I also really like the belted option because you can adjust how tight or loose you want the belt around your waist, giving you control. You can find these pants at any of these stores; FreePeople, Nordstrom Rack or Macys. I have also included in the “Shop My Favorites” link below, a less expensive option from Forever21 which is very similar to these pants and under $30! For the scarf, I opted for a light choice but I have a feeling this may change into more heavier layers later in the month once we start experiencing much cooler temperatures.  I paired this look with one of my favorite Sam Edelman shoes from Nordstrom and Michael Kors cross body bag in nude.

Now isn’t this just the cutest outfit (minus my slightly out of control crazy hair)? I think I may have found a personal fashion stylist in my daughter. Have you guys shopped at Forever21? What do you guys think? Let me know in comments below.

How to Make Every Day a Good Day

Let’s face it, do you ever have those days when it’s so difficult to get out of bed that you just dread the day ahead? Well, you will find that almost everyone experiences some sort of morning moodiness at one point in their lives, so you are not alone.  This post is all about key tips to help you deal with how you’re feeling and make a choice to do something about it.

    1. Exercise and Eat Well in the morning.  I am a firm believer in never skipping breakfast and fueling your body with healthy choices first thing in the morning. I also believe that taking a couple minutes to exercise can do wonders for your body and help give you that jumpstart to start your day right, even with something as a relaxing exercise like yoga to stretch and breathe.
    2. Make a conscious decision at the start of the day to avoid things that stress you out or how you would choose not to let petty things get to you.  You have the power to decide to be happy or angry at any given moment so you need to know yourself, and know what stresses you out and what relaxes you.  Once you know this, you will be successful in maneuvering through situations that may come your way.
    3. Do something nice for yourself. It’s important to do something nice for yourself daily, even if it means grabbing that coffee you want or taking time to go to lunch with a friend or co-worker or allowing yourself to take a nap or watch your favorite tv show. Most importantly, do what makes you happy.
    4. Dress to make you happy. Have you ever heard of the saying “when you feel good on the outside, you feel good on the inside?” Sometimes it pays to wear clothes that make us feel confident, attractive, and comfortable. It can give you that extra boost! Speaking of outfits, this jumpsuit from H&M is so cute and can be paired with a jacket for work or worn as-is for a lunch date or night out with friends. I love how versatile it is. I have also linked a similar Ted Baker clutch wallet (since mine is is sold out) and shoes in the “Shop My Outfit” section below.

I would love to hear how you make everyday a good day. xoxo Louise
